This house is made for entertaining & as a family compound for all members of the extended family to gather. As such we imagined the spaces to be a series of pockets of program – lounge, indoor bar, pool, lawn, pagodas, bedrooms, verandahs, that flow seamlessly into each other, inside to outside, circulation & program blending into one composite simultaneous experience of the house. Almost all of the furniture & accessories are sourced from Bali, offering a unique mix of Island, Dutch & French Colonial feel. This together with the civil & textural finishes done locally gives us a home that is an eclectic mix of international styles & feels easy & contemporary. It channels Alibaug, Bali & Europe all at once, evoking old world charm & comfort in a modern day setting.
